Friends of the Thorhild Library Society

DCP_1440Our group was formed in January 1993, with the goal of raising money to improve our library. Our Friends group is made up of a group of volunteers who donate their time to fundraise and assist in the library.

Some of the activities have been undertaken to raise funds:

  • Soup & Sandwich Events
  • Dinner Theatres
  • Bingo
  • Applying for Grants
  • Tea & Bake Sales
  • Casinos
  • Raffles
  • Lois Hole Memorial Plant Exchange & Sale

Funds raised over the years have been used to help purchase:
books, videos, computer equipment, renovations, furniture and audio books.

We also host annual events for the library including the children’s Christmas party, the Sunflower Reading Quest, Craft Days and reading to Children.

Whenever help is needed in the library, the Friends are ever present, lending a hand wherever it is needed including filling in for the librarian when she is away.

Anyone interested in joining the Friends of Thorhild Library Society will be warmly welcomed. Lunch is served at 12:00 noon - hope to see you there.
